This past weekend on the way back from a Haidong Gumdo seminar I had a chance to sit down with indie team that plans on producing my novels in audiobook format. The current plan is to re-record Pushing Back beginning in summer of 2016, and continue on from there. We had originally cut an audiobook of Pushing Back in the winter of 2014 but technical difficulties made the take unsuitable for professional production.
To whet the appetites of my long-term fans (one approached me after visiting my Haidong Gumdo class tonight to let me know he was waiting “very impatiently” for more books) I present to you four blooper blurbs from the rough draft of Pushing Back.
Those of you who have trained with me or gone to seminars with me know that I get pretty loopy after the 5+ hour road trip to the production facilities in Maple Grove, too much caffeine, and no sleep. So these won’t be a big surprise! This is the sort of random stuff that comes out of my mouth after I’ve been awake for 30 hours.
(If you’ve read Pushing Back, and think these sound like things Adrian Campbell will say, well… that novel did come from a sleep-deprived decision to let my inner wise-ass run amok. If you haven’t read the book yet, get on that. There’s more where this comes from.)
